FOR THE ANGEL CAKE
– 1 ½ cups egg whites
– 1 ½ cups superfine sugar , divided
– 1 cup sifted cake flour
– 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
– ¼ teaspoon salt
– 2 teaspoon vanilla
– ½ teaspoon almond or lemon extract
Topping- strawberries, sugar, lemon juice and whip cream
Mix ingredients together and bake in the oven at 325F for 50-60 minutes. Once cooled, chop up fresh strawberries and mix them with a little sugar and fresh lemon juice, use a hand masher to mash it up.
