SMOKED JALAPENO POPPERS ("TEXAS TWINKIES")

These smoked jalapeño poppers, sometimes also called Texas Torpedoes, are stuffed with meat and cheese, and then wrapped in bacon.

Finished with a bbq glaze for a delicious and fun party appetizer.

Ingredients:

– 10 large fresh jalapenos – 4 oz. cream cheese , softened at room temperature – 1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese – 15 slices uncooked bacon , preferably thick-cut – 1 cup leftover chopped brisket – your favorite smoky bbq sauce

You can smoke them, grill them, or bake them!

HOW TO MAKE  SMOKED JALAPENO POPPERS

GENERAL STEPS

Slice a vertical cut into each jalapeno without cutting all the way through, clean out the seeds. In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, pepper jack cheese and meat. Stuff the jalapeno halves with the cream cheese mixture, then wrap with bacon.

READY TO ENJOY! 

Bake in the oven at 375F for 45 minutes. You can also use a smoker.
