MICHIGAN SAUCE HOT DOGS

This michigan sauce recipe is a simple chili sauce that slathers over top your hot dogs. Similar to a coney dog, upstate New York calls them michigans.

You can top your chili cheese dogs with raw chopped onions, pickle relish, cheese sauce, shredded cheddar cheese, or yellow mustard.

Ingredients:

– 1 lb lean ground pork – 1 lb lean ground beef – 6 oz. tomato paste – 1 ½ cup beef broth  – 2 tbsp chili powder ,  – 2 tbsp cider vinegar – 2 tsp salt – 1 tsp brown sugar – ½ tsp garlic powder – 1 tsp paprika – 1 tsp allspice – 12 hot dogs – 12 hot dog buns

GENERAL STEPS

Brown meat in a large skillet or pan. Use a potato masher or a wooden spoon to mash into very fine pieces of meat. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer.
