CHOCOLATE CHIP HOT CROSS BUNS

Perfect for Easter these sweet rolls are pillowy, soft and wonderful!

These hot cross buns are filled with chocolate chips and then topped with a white chocolate cross.

Ingredients:

Instant yeast (2 tablespoons) – All-purpose flour (4 ½ cups) – Sugar (½ cup, plus ¼ cup) – Milk (1 ½ cups) – Unsalted butter (4 tablespoons) – Egg (1 large) – Chocolate chips (I like semi-sweet, 2 cups) – White chocolate (2 oz.)

We brush a simple syrup over top of the baked rolls then melt white chocolate chips to pipe the crosses.

GENERAL STEPS

Combine ingredients to form a dough, knead for 5 minutes then let the dough rise for 1 hour.

READY TO BAKE!

Bake at 400F for 20-25 minutes. Prepare glaze and brush over freshly baked buns.
