Wow...where did this week go? It FLEW by, didn't it!?
We've been so busy that most days I can't even keep my mind straight. Are you all missing the lazy days of summer like I am? I'm definitely not missing the summer temperatures. We still have that. In fact, the radio meteorologist excited me today when he said, "Tomorrow, a one day cold front is coming in!" But, my excitement quickly disappeared when he followed that up with "A high of 87!" That, my friends, is a cold front here in Mississippi. 🙁
Oh well. The evenings are cooler, at least. Cool enough to go outside and play with the neighbors (who we're getting to know well now...yay!) and cool enough to bake up some cookies. Important stuff! We are making the most of it all. Last week, we went to a friend's 5 year old LEGO-themed birthday party. It was so cute!! His mom did an amazing job with it. Above is a photo of one of the many games she planned. I thought it was CLEVER. Each kid got to punch out one of the holes and behind the paper was a little prize! They loved it!
Then they had a LEGO man photo booth for the kiddos. 🙂
Sunday night Ben had a bunch of guys over for Sunday Night Football. I provided the grub... including Soft Pretzels, Buffalo Chicken Bites and our favorite salsa. I also tried Michelle's Buckeye Brownies! HELLOoooooo!! YUM! Then, Tuesday night friends from the seminary came over for dinner. They are from Portugal and have the three cutest little boys! Judah fits right in with them. 🙂
Judah had his first piece of homework this week. Can you read what it says? (My favorite is the "E" in "PURPLE". hahaha!!)
Can you believe my 3 year old colored this?? Yep, I'm bragging. 😉 He can stay in the lines! Now we just need to work on color choices...

Loving Lately:
Here I will share with you my favorite things of late, along with other snippets that have caught my eye from some of my favorite blogs and websites.
Krusteaz Molten Deep Dish Cookie Mix - Last month, I was sent the full product line of Krusteaz' new Molten Deep Dish cookie mixes to try. They come in three varieties: Chocolate Cookie, Sugar Cookie, and Classic Cookie. To be honest, I didn't have high hopes because some cookie mixes I've used in the past leave much to be desired. Not the case with these. Oh my word. These are crazy delicious. I love anything that has a molten filling oozing out from the center, but I don't typically like going through the hassle to make them from scratch. This box mix makes it SO easy. Quickly mix up the dough, press half of each dough ball into the bottoms of a 12-cup muffin pan. Then, use the packet of chocolate filling provided in the box and squeeze just over a teaspoon onto the center of each muffin cup, and top with the rest of the dough. Bake for about 20 minutes and they come out so perfectly tasty! Such an impressive cookie dessert option when you're in a pinch! Come back on Monday where I decided to create my own type of dessert recipe using these mixes. AND... you will have a chance to win a set of them, too!!
Skinny Belts on Amazon.com - Okay, so I'm a little late in the skinny belt trend. In fact, I stated just a few moments ago on my personal Facebook page that maybe I should start a fashion blog so I can learn how to dress myself. That's how I learned to cook...by starting this very blog almost 7 years ago! 😉 Anyway, my mom bought me this black belt (pictured above) for me for my birthday. I loved it so much that I went and ordered the tan/khaki one, too! Then, I found more in a huge variety of different colors (red pictured above) and they were only around $4! So... you can just guess that I have a few skinny belts now. Love the quality of all of them, but no, I haven't exactly worn any of them yet. Don't judge!
Sam & Libby Sandals from Target - Ok, so another fashion delay here, but I have to share. I bought the pink ones above this spring and they were the most comfortable things ever. So I decided to go back and get the black ones, but they were GONE. Now, they are on clearance online, so I ordered them and can wear them right now because it is still summer weather here in Mississippi. I bet I'll be wearing them through October! Anyway, if you have Target's RED card (which I don't, but if YOU do) you can get free shipping and 5% off, too, I think! So, snatch them for next summer! You'll come back and thank me because they seriously are the best sandals...comfy AND cute. Dress up AND casual. Oh, and you will want to order a half size up from what you normally wear. At least, that was the case for me. I normally wear 8 ½, but had to get 9 for these.
Speaking of fashion... what are your favorite fashion trends for this fall?? Where do you shop?? I need all the help I can, friends! Yes, we usually talk about food here, but let's talk clothes, shirts, pants, scarves, boots, etc. today! 🙂 Men - you can chime in here, too! 😉
