...here we go again with another sweet treat recipe post. Don't shoot me for making your waistline bigger. But, wait, aren't you really making these cookies and sweets for your friends and family as Christmas presents? So you have nothing to worry about, right?

These cutie patootie reindeer cookies were sent right out to the dozens of kids in our neighborhood. Okay, so not until the day after I made them, which allowed for me to eat maybe one...or five...of them before they made it out to the crowd of wee little mouths.
Judah loves sharing the cookies we make. Even if there are only three cookies left on a plate, he will say "Judah have a cookie and share with friends?" I.love.my.generous.kid.

Rudolph Peanut Butter Cookies
Ingredients
- ½ cup shortening
- ¾ cup peanut butter
- ⅓ cups granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 Tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 ½ cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 36 red M&M's
- 72 mini semisweet chocolate chips
- Twisted pretzels , broken into 72 small pieces for antlers
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone liner.
- Cream together the shortening, peanut butter and sugars in a large mixing bowl at medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, milk and vanilla.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt. Add to the butter mixture and blend until combined. Scoop dough into 1-inch balls onto the baking sheet. Bake on center rack for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and immediately place 1 red M&M on the center of each cookie, 2 chocolate chips as eyes, and 2 pretzel pieces as antlers. Allow to cool completely on baking sheet set on wire rack. Repeat with remaining dough and candy.
- Best served within 2 days.
