Pennies on a Platter is back! And, with a new design! Thanks to Delicious Design Studios for working with me on putting together exactly what I envisioned for this redesign. Do you like it? I do!
You might be asking, "Where have you been this whole summer", and "What has been keeping you so occupied that you just couldn't post even ONCE?" Or, maybe you were not even wondering and gave up on me, thinking I'll never return? I have to say...Thank YOU for being loyal! And, thank YOU for returning to read Pennies on a Platter! As you know from my previous post, BG and I are expecting our first baby this December. I can't express how excited I am for this change in our lives! But, yes, this is what kept me from my hobby, my blog. Here is a quick rundown:
The first trimester, I was so nauseated and couldn't even think about my food blog without getting sick. It was crazy how just looking at food could be so nauseating. And, seriously, those KFC grilled chicken commercials made me want to run to the toilet every time they came on. It was unfortunate that they chose to launch their campaign right when I was feeling my "best".
Enter second trimester... started feeling a lot better, but still no energy to cook, take photos, and write. The nauseous feeling would return anytime I logged on to my blog. Trust me, I was logging on and moderating comments, checking my Pennies email and working on the redesign...but I just couldn't bring myself to write! The belly started growing, of course, and my time was taken up with registering, planning the baby room, working, and sleeeeping zzzzzzzz....! I made some yummy recipes, but no photos... Don't worry, I'll make the dishes again!
Third trimester... present day. 🙂 I'm feeling great! But, I hear it might go downhill in the next few weeks. Luckily, the last couple of weeks I've had a little bit of energy reload and have some recipes and photos in the queue. The blog redesign was finished and I'm glad to time it with my return to posting, so here we are!
The photo above is the cupcake tower my best friend made for my recent baby shower. We decided at the beginning of the pregnancy to do the nursery in cute, whimsical, vintage owls because it was something different. Now, owls are blowing up all over the place! They are just SO cute. Didn't my BFF do an outstanding job on this cake?? My sister also did an exceptional job with the planning and food. I have to say, my shower was AWESOME!
I'm so excited to be back and sharing recipe adventures with you all again. It was hard to think that I've been missing out on cooking, baking and learning for so many months now! I feel like I've got a lot of catching up to do, so please, stick with me for the ride!
