A collection of photos of our visit to MINILAND at LEGOLAND® Dubai -- an indoor exhibit of iconic buildings and skylines from around the Middle East made from 20 million LEGO bricks.
During our recent trip to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, we had the opportunity to visit LEGOLAND® Dubai. Because we didn't have our kids with us, we only spent a few hours in the morning exploring MINILAND -- an indoor display of iconic buildings and skylines made all from LEGO bricks.
The rest of LEGOLAND® Dubai theme park and water park is very similar to LEGOLAND® Florida Resort. Most of the same rides are included, except most notably the LEGO movie world and the Ninjago ride. We ventured over to the Dragon rollercoaster, but spent the rest of our time "ooo'ing" and "awe'ing" the MINILAND display.
Upon entering the building that houses MINILAND, Ben and I were in complete shock. You see, we are used to the MINILAND at LEGOLAND, Florida Resort that is also super cool, but completely different than this one in LEGOLAND, Dubai. The MINILAND in Florida is outdoor and includes skylines from many different iconic cities across America. It is really neat -- I would advise you to go there just to see IT!
BUT, the MINILAND at LEGOLAND, Dubai the skylines and buildings are MUCH bigger and seem to be more to scale. Some of the displays offer an area to crawl inside and take a deeper look into the features.
We were super impressed with MINILAND at LEGOLAND, Dubai. It was just incredible and we spent quite a bit of time walking to and from each structure to stare at the details.
They created a LEGO rendition of the tallest building in the world -- the Burj Khalifa. Yes, this is the same building Tom Cruise scaled in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. The display even included the Dubai Fountain Show!
Here are some more photos of the iconic buildings. Can you recognize them?
This isn't even half of them! One of my favorites was the Dubai Airport. I forgot to take a photo of the inside that was incredible with their details -- even a rotating baggage claim made from LEGO bricks! If you follow my stories and highlights on Instagram you can find a video of it there.
We love MINILAND at LEGOLAND Dubai and were so glad we had the chance to visit! Maybe next time we'll have the kids with us and can take the day to explore the rest of the park!
