A monthly report of my favorite Amazon purchases. This month we are featuring items that will help you keep the kids busy and yourself comfy while we're stuck at home!
Wow, what a whirlwind of a month so far! Typically, I publish this monthly Amazon post on the FIRST Friday of the month. But, because most of us are at home right now and Amazon shipping is a little longer than usual, I thought it might be best to publish this post as soon as possible.
I'll be honest with you, I struggled writing this post in the midst of everything happening. It's definitely hard to focus on something like online shopping when events are so scary and sad in the world right now. But, I decided to go along with it because it's a nice distraction and I think these ideas can help a lot of you. Plus, I would love to hear your Amazon favorites during this time! How are y'all keeping busy and what Amazon purchases are helping you right now?
Last month, I shared a bunch of random items, from my favorite slip on sneakers to Ben's new book to the most comfortable jogger pants EVER! This month, we're staying focused with cozy clothing for the home and fun things to do with our kids.
I’m an Amazon affiliate so any qualifying purchase you make from my links will earn me a small commission. But, your price is NO different than if you found the item yourself. I promise!
Activities to Keep Your Kids Busy
Painting Supplies
I bought this set of acrylic paints because I realized our paint supply was low. The little bit of paint we did have was very kiddish -- the Crayola washable kind -- that my boys have outgrown. Plus, I had plans to watch Bob Ross with them and envisioned beautiful landscaped art produced. Our landscapes might've not been as beautiful as I hoped, but we're still enjoying using this paint every day for all types of art!
This plastic mat is a nice table top size that will protect the surfaces from paint. Unfortunately, it seems to be in and out of stock. You can try this drop cloth if you can't find the mat.
To make it a little more fun, I bought my kids these little paint palettes. It's a two pack and also comes with some paintbrushes. We already had enough paintbrushes but I couldn't help myself from buying this kit just because of the palettes. My boys have really enjoyed using them to mix their paints.
The last paint supply I decided to purchase were these paper pads. The paper is specifically for acrylic paint, and I was very pleased with its thickness and great quality! The pages tear out very easily. The paper comes in two pads and each pad has 16 pages. If you have younger kids using washable paints, I would suggest these paper pads instead for creating large paintings.
Sudoku Book
Judah asked me to get him a Sudoku book for his new-found love of this type of puzzle solving. I thought that was a great idea and it's been a good quiet time activity for him. It took me a while to choose which book, but in the end I think they're all very similar.
If I remember correctly, you can find these at the Dollar Tree, but I am committed to staying at home and only going out for essentials, so purchased this one on Amazon instead. I bought it for only $4.00 on Amazon, but I see it is $8.00 now! It looks like most of the Sudoku book prices are higher than when I researched last week, probably because they're a popular item right now.
Tabletop Games
**I planned on having photos of these for you, but the day got away from me, so I will try to update this post later with real photos!**
Before being confined to our homes, we were able to go as a family to the student center at Ben's work and play pool, foosball, and ping pong. Thankfully, over the years we collected a few tabletop sized versions of these games, like billiards, air hockey, and foosball! 🙂
Let's talk about the tabletop pool table first. We bought ours from Target a couple of years ago, so the one linked on Amazon is not the exact one we have. It might be a little smaller than ours, but it has good reviews and is on sale for around $15 right now. The one we have is typically only available during the holiday season.
For Father's Day last year, I bought Ben this tabletop version of foosball. He LOVES foosball and reminisces about his graduate study days when he and his classmates would competitively play every day during lunch. We've been impressed with this particular table. It's a little large for storing, but the quality is great. I actually bought a "refurbished" one from Amazon for half the price. It advertised as cosmetic blemishes, but we couldn't find one thing wrong with it!
Lastly, this air hockey table was one we bought after playing with this exact same table at Ben's brother's house in North Carolina. I noted the exact brand and table because I knew it would be a great Christmas present for the boys last year. I was hoping for the price to lower, but it remained around $60 so just bit the bullet and was happy I did because it's great.
All three of these above store well underneath a bed, if you have the space for it. They can fit under my boys beds, so we just keep them in their rooms.
The one game we don't have is table tennis. I'm currently considering getting this to clamp to our kitchen table so we can play ping pong without taking up the space of an actual ping pong table!
Cozy Stay at Home Clothes
Comfy Tops
This is the most comfortable swing tee! I have it in black and also in gray with black stripes. If you play it right, you can get them for super cheap, too. I bought the striped one for around $5.00! Any of them are no more than $15.00 so you really can't go wrong.
These swing tees are perfect for spring and layering underneath a hoodie or jean jacket. I also love wearing them with my favorite leggings.
I bought this hoodie over a month ago and have worn it at least twice a week! This is the hoodie I keep grabbing when I'm hanging in my home or if we're going on a walk in the chilly morning. It's super comfy, light weight and just overall WONDERFUL.
I like the thumb holes and the material is cool and springy, and gives some warmth without too much. Great quality for the price of just $20! (The other colors may be up to $25.) I'm planning on buying the black one soon!
Comfy Bottoms
I cannot stress enough how much I love my favorite leggings and my favorite joggers for comfort and for style! For the sake of time, I will not repeat the photos and description, but instead click here to my previous post about the leggings and click here to read about the joggers.
Comfy Pajamas
I'm working towards getting new cozy springtime pajamas. My pickings are slim right now as we transition from winter to spring, so I've been wearing a mixture of flannel bottoms and tees still. I just ordered these cute pajamas in hopes they will be comfy and cute, while keeping me cool enough at night since the weather hit record breaking temps this week!
Speaking of pajamas, I'm tired and can't type anymore so I'll end it here. Praying y'all are finding rest and peace during this time, and if you need a distraction, I've got you covered with online shopping! 😉
