Happy Memorial Day weekend! What's going on in your neck of the woods? We're just trying to stay cool with some fun sprinkler action. 🙂
If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you saw that I was in Miami last weekend for a blogging conference. It was fun, but I sure do wish I would've taken at least one step on the beach! haha! More on that tomorrow.
I don't think I slept more than 8 hours the entire weekend, so when I arrived home on Sunday afternoon, I basically was a zombie trying to take care of the kids and get back into normal routine. That didn't work out very well. The next day I slept in way too late. Thankfully Ben has such a flexible schedule that he was able to let me catch up on my zzzzzz's. But, seriously, how could I not want to be awake and take care of these cute faces??
Thursday, we spent our first visit of the year to the charming Livingston Farmers Market.
We love this market because it's small, but fun for the kids, too. It has a free water slide!
Judah had fun making sure Simon had his fair share of splashes.
Daddy was in on the wet mess, as well. 🙂
My favorite booth at the market this week was this sweet gal's Macaron stand. Her name is Lauren Bowie and her business is Meringue (A Macaron Kitchen). Right now she does pre-orders and market stands only, but I'm seriously hoping she opens a store in the area. We sampled one of her peanut butter flavors and uh-huh YUM! Lauren, we'll be regulars when you open your bakery! 😉
We sampled Tony's Tamales finally for the first time. I've heard so much about them..raving reviews. They definitely lived up to the hype and I'll be visiting their drive-thru restaurant in Ridgeland very soon.
For dinner, we opted for The Goober burger from LurnyD's Grille, a local food truck. I've been wanting to try it ever since my friend, Lisa, wrote about it.
By the way, have I mentioned that I just started a new gig writing for a local online food magazine? Check out my first article and leave me some love. 😉
Recently On Seeded at the Table:
This section highlights the recipes posted recently on Seeded at the Table and other updates to the blog, if any.
Chocolate Oreo Peanut Butter Dream Dessert - If you are in charge for dessert at your Memorial Day picnic, you MUST bring this. It serves a lot of people and each one of them will want you as their best friend once they take a bite.
Birthday Sprinkles Cupcakes - Have a birthday to celebrate? Try this knock-off Funfetti cupcake recipe!
Cheetos Marshmallow Crispy Treats - Tired of the same ol' Rice Krispies Treats? Make them with Cheetos instead! Sounds weird, right? But it works!
Loving Lately:
Here I will share with you my favorite things of late, along with other snippets that have caught my eye from some of my favorite blogs and websites.
Today's "Loving Lately", is all about my new pair of Tieks. Have you seen the hype of these shoes? They are basically the most comfortable ballet flats ever!
I chose this multi-colored Azure Snake style because the marble of colors matches basically everything in my wardrobe.
I'm a huge fan of Toms shoes, too (what I call "Moms" shoes), but these flats actually dress up a casual outfit when I need it. I'm super impressed with these shoes and hope that later I can save up to buy a solid color pair.
Speaking of color, you should check out all of the amazing colors they offer! Seriously, you can find your favorite shade, no problem!
The packaging is marvelous! So cute and girly!
And, check out how they fold right up so they take up hardly any room when traveling.
I also love that you can try them and send them back if they just aren't your thing...and they take care of the shipping!
Do you have a pair of Tieks? What are your thoughts?

I want a pair of these shoes so bad. They are top on my list for my upcoming birthday!!

Your kids are so cute and I love that farmers market!
I've wanted Tieks but just can't justify spending that much on shoes! Are they worth the price do you think?
Nikki Gladd says
Kristen - I've heard mixed reviews, but more people saying that they love them and worth the price. I think the solid colors are definitely more reasonable, but it is nice that the snake skin ones I have go with just about everything I own because of the multi-colors. So, I look at it as like 5 pairs in one. haha! I probably will buy a solid color later this year...maybe tan for the fall. 🙂

(and thank you!) 😉

I had the pleasure of sitting at a table with your husband at the seminary graduation dinner last weekend! I told him that I read your blog. 🙂

Ha! I would've been right there with you if it wasn't for the conference! Congratulations on your husband's graduation!
