STRAWBERRY GLAZED ANGEL FOOD CAKE

One of my favorite desserts is angel food cake topped with mashed strawberries and whipped cream.

Once you make the angel food cake adding the topping only takes a few minutes!

Ingredients:

FOR THE ANGEL CAKE – 1 ½ cups egg whites – 1 ½ cups superfine sugar , divided – 1 cup sifted cake flour – 1 teaspoon cream of tartar – ¼ teaspoon salt – 2 teaspoon vanilla – ½ teaspoon almond or lemon extract Topping- strawberries, sugar, lemon juice and whip cream

This simple recipe uses basic ingredients already found in your pantry.

HOW TO MAKE STRAWBERRY GLAZED ANGEL FOOD CAKE

GENERAL STEPS

Mix ingredients together and bake in the oven at 325F for 50-60 minutes. Once cooled, chop up fresh strawberries and mix them with a little sugar and fresh lemon juice, use a hand masher to mash it up.

Pour the strawberry mixture over the angel food cake and finish with some whip cream.
