Gingerbread Men

This gingerbread cookie recipe is a family tradition. Tried  and true easy gingerbread men recipe that tastes delicious and fun to  decorate!

•Flour •Baking soda •Brown sugar •Unsalted butter •Egg •Salt •Molasses •Spice (ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves)

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.

Mix Wet Ingredients

In large mixing bowl, beat butter until creamy. Mix in brown sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in spices, molasses and egg.

Combine Ingredients

Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

Chill Dough

Divide dough into two halves and form each half into a disc. Wrap each disc tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours.

Preheat Oven

When ready to roll out dough, preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll Out Dough

Remove one disc from fridge. On a floured surface, roll the chilled dough out to no less than 1/4-inch thickness.

Cut Out Shapes

Using a gingerbread men cookie cutter, cut shapes out of dough and place onto baking sheet.

Bake

Bake until light golen brown, about 10 to 12 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes on cookie sheet then cool completely on wire rack before decorating.
