Italian Easter Bread

Italian Easter Bread is a soft sweet bread with an Easter egg baked in the middle and topped with sprinkles!

What You Need:

*Instant Yeast *Milk *Salt *Unsalted Butter *Eggs *Sugar *All Purpose Flour

Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine yeast, milk, salt, butter, eggs, sugar and some flour.

Create Dough

On low speed, add the rest of the flour until a dough forms. Knead until dough is smooth.

Let Dough Rise

Transfer to oiled bowl, cover and let rise for 1 hour.

"Braid" Dough Ropes

Divide dough into 12 equal pieces and roll into 14-inch ropes. Twist ropes to form a "braid" then join ends to form a wreath.

Let "Braids" Rise

Cover with towel and let rise 1 more hour.

Decorate

Brush with egg wash.  Decorate with sprinkles. Place egg in center of each nest.

Bake

Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes.

Serve & Enjoy! 

Let cool and serve.
