📖 About this Recipe
I came across a similar frozen strawberry dessert recipe years ago, and then over time, I adapted it in various ways, using less sugar and also less bowls. Now, I whip it all up in my blender and dirty nothing else, of course except a rubber spatula, a knife, cutting board, and an 8x8-inch pan. But, I think you get what I mean.
🧂 Ingredients
For this recipe, you will need quite a few fresh strawberries. I like to snatch them at Sam's Club for a good price. Here's what you need to make this delicious strawberry dessert.
Grocery list for frozen strawberry dessert:
- Fresh strawberries - As I stated above, I grab these at Sam's Club because you need a bunch. Check the recipe card below for exactly how many. Some you'll slice, some you puree from whole.
- Graham cracker crumbs - You can buy these in a tub as crumbs already, or you can buy graham crackers and crush them yourself. If you do this, it will take probably 2 sleeves of graham crackers depending on the brand.
- Granulated sugar - Just a couple of tablespoons of good ol' white sugar to sweeten up that graham cracker crumb.
- Vanilla extract - I always use pure, but imitation is fine here.
- Sweetened condensed milk - Grab a standard 14 oz. can, but you'll only use part of it.
- Cream cheese - You'll use half the block, but I know you can find use for that other half.
- Cool Whip - Again, just using half of the 8 oz. tub, save the other half to dollop on this.

🍴 Serving Suggestions
Other berries: Try using other types of berries, like blackberries, raspberries or blueberries. You can also use homemade whipped cream instead of Cool Whip. Instead, whip up 1 cup of whipping cream with a couple tablespoons of powdered sugar until it's fluffy in consistency then use as directed.
Unfrozen: If you prefer a fluffier serving, instead of freezing this dessert you can keep it in the fridge and serve it cold like a pudding pie. Or, if some like it frozen and some like it unfrozen, store in the freezer and slice a piece to let thaw for those who'd prefer it that way.
No diced strawberries: The frozen strawberries in this might bother people with sensitive teeth. For this reason, I would recommend either keeping it in the fridge and serving unfrozen, or leaving out the diced strawberries altogether if keeping frozen.
👩🏻🍳 Storage and Leftover Tips
- This dessert is stored in the freezer, unless you decide to do the unfrozen version as described above in Serving Suggestions.
- You can slice square servings straight from frozen, no need to let thaw.
- Cover the remaining and store again in the freezer.
- Repeat until the dessert is gone!

Recipe Card
Frozen Strawberry Dessert
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 heaping cup whole strawberries , hulled
- ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract*
- ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk
- 4 oz. cream cheese , room temperature
- 4 oz. Cool Whip
- 1 cup diced strawberries
- Extra sliced strawberries for garnish ,optional
Instructions
- Lightly grease an 8x8 baking dish; set aside.
- In a medium bowl, mix together graham cracker crumbs, sugar and melted butter. Press half of mixture evenly into the bottom of prepared pan.
- Puree whole strawberries in a blender (scrape sides of bowl and process a couple of times until almost smooth...it's ok if a few chunks of strawberries are left). Add vanilla, condensed milk and cream cheese to the blender and pulse until just combined. Fold in the Cool Whip, then diced strawberries.
- Spread strawberry mixture evenly over the graham cracker crust in the pan. Sprinkle remaining graham cracker crumbs evenly over top.
- Cover with foil and freeze at least 5 hours before serving. To serve, slice into squares. Optional: Top with fresh sliced strawberries for garnish just before serving.
Notes
- It is important to use pure vanilla extract with alcohol in the ingredients list for aiding the frozen mixture to stay somewhat soft.
- If your teeth are sensitive to frozen diced strawberries, you can leave them out or keep dessert in the fridge and serve like a pudding pie instead.
- Try using other berries for flavor variation.
