This 3-Ingredient Hot Onion Dip is one of the easiest dips you can throw together for a last minute appetizer. A favorite dip recipe, this baked onion dip is always a crowd pleaser!
Do you have a collection of recipes that are your easiest, most convenient and most well-loved? Are they printed and in a binder? Maybe you have gone all digital and have them stored on your computer? Or, is Pinterest your best friend and you're completely organized with recipe boards?
However you save those favorite recipes, get ready to add this Hot Onion Dip to your collection! Most of my recipes are convenient, easy to follow, few ingredients, yummilicious recipes but this one MUST be at your fingertips for a quick appetizer option when you don't know what else to make. (Or, even when you DO have your menu all planned, this baked onion dip is a great one to throw in with the rest of the spread!)
Easy Baked Onion Dip
Why is this hot onion dip recipe so easy and convenient? It includes staple pantry ingredients that many of you should always have on hand. I always have a tub of grated Parmesan cheese, a container of mayonnaise (Duke's is my fave!), and at least one sweet onion in my kitchen. These are three items I have so many uses for, so typically keep them stocked.
Of course, there are those moments I thought I had a sweet onion in the basket on my counter only to find out I used it for that other recipe yesterday. I know you've been there, done that, too! 🙂
What to serve with Hot Onion Dip
With football season upon us, this is the perfect easy dip recipe to serve your tailgating friends. I always serve this baked onion dip with buttery Ritz crackers because they are my favorite. I also love the football designed crackers they stock on the shelves this time of year! But, you can also serve this dip with pretzels, veggies, bread cubes, whatever floats your boat!
Try variations of this onion dip by adding in other flavors like shredded cheddar, dill, chives, Cajun seasoning, etc. etc. I love it just as written below, in its simplest form, but sometimes it's fun to change it up a little!
This hot onion dip recipe can be doubled without changing the baking time, but use a bigger dish. I love to use a pretty pottery dish that can go straight from oven to table looking all nice!
