When our son turned 6, we threw him a Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare birthday party. With Halloween approaching, I thought it'd be appropriate to share these PvZ party ideas for you!
We ordered the cake from a local cake shop, For Heaven's Cakes. They did a fantastic job honoring exactly what I requested. The characters are all handmade edible chocolate pieces!
I printed a banner from this Etsy shop and then printed a few graphics from an internet image search to make the food labels and decorate the table. All of the food, except the cake, was store-bought because I needed quick and convenient. There were so many creative ways to relate the food to a Plants vs Zombies reference so it was fun! Below is the menu in photos:
I found these water bottle labels from this shop and wrap them around mini bottles.
We had a pinata in the shape of a zombie head. I had to get creative with this one. I couldn't find a PvZ specific pinata to buy, so I found a Day of the Dead pinata at Walmart that was in the same shape I needed for a zombie head. So, I just had to tear off it's eyes, spray paint it green, and glue new zombie eyes on. Voila! Judah LOVED it.
We made the kids wear a zombie mask during their turn.
I made sure each kid had a green baggie to scoop up their own candy stash once the pinata burst open.
Another activity the boys enjoyed was putting together their own zombie paper dolls. They got a kick out of making their own zombie. I bought the template from this shop.
I do not have photos of it, but they also played a PvZ Bingo game I found here.
My favorite part of the party (and I think the kids' favorite part, too) was giving each of them a homemade marshmallow gun so they could run around our yard shooting balloon zombies. I also set up prints of zombies and taped on our fence for targets. Each party guest got to take their gun home. For the zombie balloons, I bought green helium balloons from the grocery store and used a Sharpie to draw on simple zombie faces.
These party favors were fun to put together. Again, I found a free image through an internet search and printed, then cut it out and taped it to the small pots with a green ribbon. I filled each pot with zombie-themed goodies. You can find a bunch of good cheap party favors during Halloween!
Lastly, I requested all the boys to show me their zombie walk. Such good sports! haha!
We really had a great time with this party. Although there were a ton of wild boys at our house at once, it was a nice day to have them outside running around in the backyard and shooting marshmallows. Fun time by all!
(Party invitations were ordered from this shop. I do not have a photo of our exact one. Please leave a comment below if you have questions about any of the Plants vs Zombies party information above.)
