Take a sweet and salty refresher with this salted whipped cream over a cold brew coffee.
Recently, a friend posted a photo on her Instagram -- a salted cream iced coffee drink. I saw it at exactly the moment when I was breaking from the morning's adventures of chasing an almost 2 year old, listening to the nonstop stories of a 5 year old, while attempting to accomplish a few household chores. It was finally break time, aka nap time.
You mommas know what I'm talking about. Sweet, precious, nap time. Judah no longer naps, but we still require "quiet time" for him while Simon is napping. This gives me a quick break to get work done on my computer, or read a book/devotional, or even take a much needed power nap! But, you know what I almost always do during this treasured time? I sneak some sort of treat for myself. In the last couple of days, it's been Pepperidge Farm® Milano® cookies!
Along with a treat to eat, I always save coffee time for nap time. So, this particular day that I saw the salted cream iced coffee photo, I decided I needed to make this for my next treat time. To make it fast and easy, I cheated and use store-bought whipped cream instead of whipping my own. But, hey, I need to savor every last minute of glorious nap time, so this short cut was necessary.
Use the recipe for my easy cold brew coffee and sweeten it with my simple syrup, then top with the recipe for salted cream. It's delicious, unique, and a perfect refreshment to get you going again.
The Milano dulce de leche cookies are my favorite and pairs beautifully with this salted cream iced coffee. If you think about the salted caramel iced coffee craze then you understand why.
